Hello,
I'm Yurii Martyniuk
Let's get acquainted! Scroll down to learn more about me

About me in brief

I am a Full Stack developer with 5+ years of experience. Most often I write Python: Telegram bots, parsers, and tools that handle repetitive work. For websites I use TypeScript, React, and Next.js. I like a good-looking interface to do something useful — although I also built this site because I wanted to play around.
MongoDB is the database I work with most often. I know PostgreSQL too: our relationship is a little more complicated, but we get along. I choose the database to fit the task.

I am CTO and co-founder of Mindex, MediaMood, and Vishunka. Mindex helps analyse public tenders, MediaMood tracks media coverage, and Vishunka helps people learn languages. Across these projects I write code, design architecture, and work with the team. I have led teams of four to ten developers. More about these projects here
Outside development, I volunteer and take part in community work. At the Symbols Foundation I run cybersecurity workshops for young people. The foundation also helps young teams develop startups and turn ideas into working projects. I enjoy being part of that process. More about my community work here

I enjoy exploring new technologies, making my own ideas work, and writing documentation that even I can understand six months later. But this site is about more than work: further down there are bikes, origami, chess, and a little self-deprecation.
Technical Stack
Python
My favorite programming language, with which I've created dozens of bots, parsers, and automation tools. My Python obeys me even on Monday mornings ;)
React
I use React and Next.js for websites and web apps. I like paying attention to interface details — sometimes, as this site suggests, a little too much.
MongoDB
My most-used database for bots and web projects. I like the flexibility, but indexes and data structure still need thought. There is no magic.
TypeScript
Helps catch mistakes before the code runs. Fewer surprises in the browser mean a better chance of finishing my coffee while it is warm.
DevOps
Docker, deployments, and environment setup. After a few adventurous manual deployments, I especially appreciate being able to run everything consistently.
Flutter
Still learning: I have made two personal projects and want to try more. Here, I still have more questions than cups of coffee.

Outside of Work
"Everyone should have at least three hobbies: one creative, to develop yourself; one athletic, to stay healthy; and one that makes money. And if you have a fourth hobby — chess, you'll always know that in life, as in chess: sometimes you have to sacrifice a pawn to win the game."
— Folk wisdom of programmer-chess players
Origami
creativeThe art of folding paper into elegant shapes is a meditation for hands and mind. Nothing soothes quite like creating a paper crane after a long day of coding.
Cycling
athleticExploring new routes on two wheels is my way of rebooting my brain. Especially when I come across a mountain and realize that a 'light walk' has turned into a sports challenge.
Programming
profitableYes, it's both work and a hobby at the same time. When you write code not because you have to, but because you can't help writing — it's already a diagnosis. But one that also brings money.
Chess
intellectualMy fourth, secret hobby. I play chess at the level of 'I think 20 moves ahead, but still lose'. I dream of someday beating at least a children's bot on chess.com.
